Smiles, drool and coos at two

Two months.  I can't believe it's been two months.  Although, honestly it feels like he's always been here mainly because now I don't know what I'd do without him.

Here's what Caden's been up to over the last few weeks...

We bought Caden a new bath tub....a normal, run of the mill baby tub.  We had the tummy tub to begin with...

...and I have no idea how anyone cleans their kid in that thing, let alone gets them out.  You have to be 8 feet tall to reach into while it's on a counter.

So we made the switch and as you can see Caden's pretty into it.  He's also into himself.  He spends most of his bath time checkin' himself out in the mirror.  Who came blame him.

When the 6 week mark came along it was like someone turned on a switch and he started smiling and hasn't stopped since.  Talking to him, smiling at him or showing him his bottle seem to get the biggest smile reactions as of yet.  Every once in a while he'll grace us with a little giggle.  I can't wait until those get bigger.

There's nothing quite like that gummy grin.

Caden's two month photo shoot went much better than his one month.  He was all smiles.  As you can see he's definitely filling out more...gotta love those thigh rolls.  At the doctor last week he got his first set of shots and we found out that he's in the 90%ile for height and weight which wasn't really that big of shocker.  We knew he was big.  He weighs exactly 14 lbs and is 24 inches long as of right now.  He's quickly outgrowing his 0-3 months clothes (especially the jammies).

I have to work next week and then I'll be done for the summer.  I am so grateful that I've had ten weeks off to spend with my little guy, but I'll be even more grateful to not think about school at least for two months.  (Although who am I kidding, I'm always thinking about it).

Next month we will have another professional shoot with Chris's cousin.  I can't wait to see what fun things she does with our smily boy.

Six Weeks

What a difference six weeks makes.  Caden's like a whole new baby.  He's on a pretty good routine for over night, sleeping about 4 hours between each time...which means he only really gets up once in the middle of the night.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that this keeps up.

April 22nd marked Caden's one month birthday.  We tried to take some pictures...but he wasn't feelin' it.

He has definitely filled out.  Lots of new little rolls here and there.  The last time we took him to the doctor was about 2 and half weeks ago and he weighed 9 lbs 9 oz so I'm sure he's in the double digits now.

He has started to lose his hair, but only in the front.  He's really beginning to look like a little old man.  His hair in the back is pretty long, maybe we'll try a comb over and see how it goes.

His hair color hasn't changed a whole lot, but Caden's eyes seem to have lightened up a little.  It's looking like he'll have blue eyes like his mama.

Over the past week he has started to hold his head up so much!  He's such a big boy now.  His favorite position to be held is sitting up and if you're carrying him, you'd better have him facing out.  I think it's because he can see so much more now that he doesn't want to miss anything.  Yesterday in the car I noticed that he wasn't just staring into space in his car seat.  For the first time he was looking out the window.

Since Mr. Caden is so much more active these days we've been trying out some of the baby gear. He likes it for a limited time.  Yesterday he was enjoying his play mat until...

...One of the dang monkeys fell off and hit him in the head.  Oops.

As usual wherever Caden is, Charlotte's sure to follow.  I think she was jealous of all his toys.

This was Caden's first time holding a rattle.  Big deal I tell you.  He entertained himself for a whole three minutes.

So lots and lots of changes over the past few days.  He's turned into one smilin' dude, but he's moving so much it's hard to snap a good picture of his gummy grin.

Uh oh...someone's awake and beckoning me.  Until next time...
